IN THE COMMUNITY

Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to serving the total health needs of our community is core to our mission. Oral health is crucial to overall wellness, and we want to help provide preventive care for everyone.

DENTAL CARE FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST

Kaiser Permanente Northwest contributes to the Oregon Children’s Dental Health Initiative, which supports school-based dental care and prevention services in 22 counties across the state. Students in low-income schools have access to dental screenings, sealants, and fluoride treatments, as well as connections to dental care, through this initiative.

Our dental offices routinely offer free care to low-income, uninsured, and underinsured people through our safety net and Thriving Schools partners.

COMMUNITY BENEFIT IN THE NORTHWEST

Each year, Kaiser Permanente Northwest partners with more than 150 local organizations that contribute to community health efforts. In 2017, Kaiser Permanente Northwest Community Benefit invested over $123 million into our communities. We take pride in these collaborations, and the Portland Business Journal consistently ranks Kaiser Permanente in the top 5 large companies for corporate philanthropy.
