Emergency dental care involves treatment of sudden and unexpected conditions in or around the teeth and gums needing immediate attention. Emergency dental conditions include:
Bleeding that does not stop
Severe swelling or infection
Severe traumatic injury
Extreme pain
Urgent Dental Conditions
Urgent dental conditions include:
Toothaches
Chipped teeth
Broken fillings
Swelling around a tooth
Costs Associated With Urgent & Emergency Dental Care
There is no additional cost for emergency dental services. You will pay your normal office visit charge. Please see your summary of benefits for a description of your emergency care benefits.
Dental Emergencies Outside of Our Service Area
If you have a dental emergency outside our service area, you may go to the nearest dental office. You have limited coverage for out-of-area emergency care, if your condition meets the emergency criteria above.
